Lakki Marwat sits on the southern KP plain between Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan. The district name is the tribe name. Pashto is the language of the tehsil tables (Ghazni Khel’s 2023 row is 326,571 Pashto speakers out of 329,775). Urdu is the school-and-office second language, not a rival mother tongue here.
Unlike Kohat, there is no huge cantonment row. Unlike Kurram, there is no pass town. The story is three large rural tehsils of almost the same population, and one small fourth tehsil on the edge.

Lakki Marwat municipal council is the main town row (about 70,800 in the 2023 urban size table). Naurang / Sari Naurang town council is the second urban name (about 32,300).
Lakki Marwat tehsil — 1,388 km², 341,693 people, literacy about 50 percent. Headquarters tehsil. Largest area of the four.
Sari Naurang — 623 km², 333,817 people, about 536 per km², literacy about 42.7 percent. Smallest of the three big tehsils by land, densest of all four. Naurang town sits here.
Ghazni Khel — 1,153 km², 329,775 people, literacy about 54.3 percent — highest of the four. The compiled table lists this tehsil as rural. Pashto is nearly the whole tongue row.
Bettani — 132 km², 35,571 people, literacy about 31.6 percent. A thin extra tehsil. Do not treat it as a fifth city.
Those three large tehsils are within about 12,000 people of each other. A page that only describes Lakki town misses two-thirds of the district.
Government colleges sit in Lakki and Naurang. Degree students still ride to Bannu or Dera for professional seats. DHQ Lakki Marwat is the first hospital. THQ-style cover at Naurang is the second name on local lists. Female literacy at 29 percent is the line that belongs next to the college paragraph.
